The search for a top number 9 for Nigeria has been on for a while after the exit of the legendary Nigerias attacker Rashidi Yekini.

We have seen the likes of Yakubu aiyegbeni, victor Agali, Obafemi Martins etc yet Nigeria has not gotten that top 9 player that guarantees goal in every game.

But yesterday Victor Osimhen proved again he is the man for the occasion

When the dream team was at the brink of exit Osimhen make the comback posible with a hattrick and an assist.

At the u17. He holds the record with the highest goal scorer with ten goals

In december he had 2 goals and an assist to win the player of the month in his league

Yesterday he made sure Ahmed Musa caught out 4million cos he scored a hatric plus an assist

.
With Ighalo ageing do you think

Victor Osimhen. Is that top 9, the clinical finisher, Nigeria has been waiyting for.

They have come again. That's how they overate players and give Nigerians false hope. What has the player in question done to warrant this ambiguous comparison? He has great talent, no doubts, but to begin now to compare home with Yekini is a misplaced accolade.

There can only be one Rashidi.

He had pace...he had strength. He had a bullet shot and a poacher's instinct.

Best Number 9 in Nigeria's history. He would have beaten Laurent Pokou's CAF record if not for Abacha. (Samuel Eto'o broke it)

"Before him there were many, after him there will be NONE, he's Number 1" - JAY-Z

Rest on, our goaleador !

He is 19 and then he is still 20 yrs old?
Anyway let's give him sometime cos it's too early to raise our hopes, he could even be a "flash in the pan" because yekini boots are too big even the likes of Martin and Yak could not fill

You guys should just take it easy, that was how we used mouth to chase Okocha away thinking Mikel will take us to the promise land. Once he starts reading headlines like this he starts misbehaving like typical a Nigerian.

This is just one match with the under 23

You people have started again oh. That how they turned Stanley okoro who's older than Stephen keshi to little Messi. Now okoro is no where to be found. Stop putting pressure on these guys let them grow. Just one good match now they won't give him breathing space. If he fumbles in just one match again they will say he is the most useless player ever. To be a Nigerian footballer no be beans

His club goal record has not been fantastic.
