The only problem is that most state governments will not be able to pay this minimum wage.

They should have been a range from N22k to N30k for State to choose from
They should think out of the box to generate money. Almost all these are on spending spree. They should pay

Bro, I understand you perfectly, but alas, it is not easy ah swear. Even managing a family of five is a big task talkless of an entire Nation. I agree that our leaders can do better. Bubu failed three times before he succeeded in getting into Aso Rock. Let us not make it seem as if he is the cause of every single problem in this country

Ghana National Tripartite Committee (NTC) announced 10 per cent increase in the daily minimum wage for Ghanaian workers starting January 2019. The daily minimum wage has been raised to GHȻ10.65 from current GHȻ9.68.
There is an average of 22 working days in a month, so GHȻ10.65 x 22 days = GHȻ234.3 per month, which is equivalent to 16,418.06 Naira per month. If you work every day of the month, including Saturday and Sunday (30 days), you will be paid GHȻ10.65 x 30 days = GHȻ319.5 per month, which is equivalent to 22,388.27 Naira per month.

The Cameroon minimum wage is 36,270 CFA francs (22,395.76 Naira) per month applicable to all employees in all sectors.

The minimum wage in Ghana is determined on daily basis.

The minimum wage in South Africa is determined per hour.

The minimum wage in Nigeria and Cameroon is determined per month.

A boy or girl with only 6 years of education (Primary School) would have to consider whether to earn 30,000 Naira per month in Nigeria or less than 30,000 Naira per month in Ghana or Cameroon.

What is the essence of peace corps for goodness sake? Don't we already have Army, Navy, Airforce, Immigration, police, and civil defense?

President Muhammadu Buhari has finally signed the N30,000 national minimum wage proposed by organized labour into law.

The president signed the bill on Thursday, March 28.

Igbere TV recalls that the bill was last week passed by the Senate, weeks after being passed by the Federal House of Representatives.

Buhari while singing the bill, declared that payment of the new minimum wage will commence in the month of May.

This, according to the president, is to mark the international workers day.

The monies shared by the governors and their boys in each state is more than enough. Nonsense. Security votes, estacodes, FG allocations etc. Make anybody no pay? In the United Kingdom, the minimum wage depends on age and category of worker and is paid per hour.

The National Minimum Wage is the minimum pay per hour almost all workers are entitled to by law. The rates below apply from 1 April 2018.
Category of worker /Hourly rate
Aged 25 and above (national living wage rate) = £7.83
Aged 21 to 24 inclusive = £7.38
Aged 18 to 20 inclusive = £5.90
Aged under 18 (but above compulsory school leaving age) = £4.20
Apprentices aged under 19 = £3.70
Apprentices aged 19 and over, but in the first year of their apprenticeship = £3.70

If you were a state governor, and you are given an option to pay between 22k to 30k to state workers even with abundant resources, going with the level of corruption and impunity exhibited by these said governors, now can you beat you chest and tell us sincerely that you will pay 30k?

In all honesty, this increase doesn't counter the rate of inflation this administration caused with their archaic economic policies... It just returned the typical salary earner to a moderate state of balancing out. No difference...

I am so tired of all state waiting for the state allocation every month,these act had already made the state IGR so low because the allocation and excess crude oil money is coming.Naija can't move forward like this.How will a child whose parent had already trained from pry -University up to having his/her doctorate be waiting for monthly upkeep when the parent are already 59yrs old(naija's independence)
