Indirectly it determines which course one would read in university or polytechnic eventually.

It is not necessary to use Junior Secondary School (JSS) Certificate Examination to 'sort out' students. Each student should choose the subjects he/she is interested in at the senior level.

A student may not do well in a particular subject in JS3, but may show remarkable improvement the next academic year.

Examinations for JS3 should be internal.

The JSS Certificate Examination should be scrapped; the certificate is neither accepted for employment nor used for admission to tertiary institutions.

Send your kids to public school if the cost are too much. The government only pays for public schools.

I still find it hard to know the usefulness of common entrance examination and junior waec in Nigeria.
