Okowa’s Re-election A Testament Of Excellent Performance- NANS by HenryUbus12345(m): 7:19am On Mar 31, 2019
National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), weekend, said that the overwhelming support from Deltans which led to the re-election of the Delta State Governor, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa, in the just-concluded gubernatorial election is a testament of his excellent performance.

The students’ group, in a statement signed by the National Deputy Senate President, NANS, Comrade Pedro Obi, described the governor as a bridge builder detribalized leader, transformer and performer.
The statement read in part: “ National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) wish to congratulate His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Delta State, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa on his well-deserved reelection as the governor of Delta State till 2023.

“The overwhelming support and commitment by all ethnic nationalities, groups, and people of Delta State towards the re-election bid of Senator Okowa is a manifest testament of his performance as a bridge builder, detribalized leader, transformer and performer. His victory across board is a reminder of the unity that exists in Delta State irrespective of party or ethnic affiliations.
“‘As a student body and as promised by his Excellency during the electioneering campaign, we believe and expect the Governor to use his second term as a platform and opportunity to consolidate and breed new and young leaders from across the state by giving them the opportunity to serve in various capacities ranging from agencies and parastatals to service provisions, thereby producing a new block of economically empowered youth base in Delta State that can compete favorably with their peers across the globe.
“ As we move to the next dispensation, we, the young people of Delta State, appeal for the recognition and inclusion of our class in the running of the administration, from both the local government level to the state. The youth demography, which constitutes a powerful numerical force are not too young to be involved in the business of governance.
“ We equally call on the state government to effectively consolidate on all ongoing projects (especially on education projects in all basic and tertiary institutions), improve on the state public procurement processes and further adopt ICT in the prudent running of the administration.
“ We hope and believe His Excellency will continue his reformative and sustainable approach to governance in the state as NANS enjoin all stakeholders both the opposition candidates to all join hands to move our beloved state forward.”
