OLU OWERRI PRESS RELEASE:

GOV. ROCHAS OKOROCHA AND HIS AGENTS PLAN TO BURN DOWN SENSITIVE GOVERNMENT OFFICES: CALL FOR VIGILANCE.

The attention of Olu Olu, a pro good governance sociocultural organization in Imo State has been drawn to clandestine plans by Chief Rochas Ethelbert Okorocha, outgoing Governor of Imo State and his former Chief of Staff/son in-law, Chief Uche Nwosu to burn down some sections of the government house, the office of the Accountant General of the State, Ministry of Lands, office of Secretary to the Government of Imo State as well as the Imo Micro Finance Bank.

This is not unconnected with the legitimate and widely acclaimed move by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to probe the outgoing government over alleged diversion and misappropriation of Imo allocations and Internally Generated Revenues (IGR), in addition to the call of Imo people on the Governor elect to recover all landed and other properties of Imo State Government as well as that of Communities and individuals from the outgoing Governor and his family members.

Olu Owerri hereby raises alarm and call on the Inspector General of Police to prevail on the outgoing Governor and his son in-law against this plot against the people of Imo State.

The organization further asks Imo people and the security agencies to hold the outgoing Governor and his son in-law responsible and ensure they are arrested and prosecuted, in the event of any fire incident or burglary of any of the mentioned areas between today and the 29th May 2019.

Sign:
Chief Martin Opara,
President General.
