In my own opinion, the only way Nigeria can win the World Cup someday is by working now. This will involve going back to the drawing board. It is a pity that Nigeria was on track for building her own unique brand of football in the 1994 era with players like Siasia, Eguavon, Iroha, Amokachi etc. During this era we had a team built on attack from all angles. I recall Yekini had so much supply of passes and crosses from the right (Finidi George), the left (Amunike Emmanuel), deep midfield (Sunday Oliseh) and from the supporting striker (Amokachie, Siasia etc). With so much supply of passes, goal scoring opportunities were bound and it was no wonder why score lines in the 1990’s were as much as 4-0, 5-0 and even 7-1 etc. The defense was another stronghold. We had reliable tall and heavily built defenders like Okechukwu and Eguavon.
