5 years on since we blew up African print internationally and it’s still going strong in the market. Yes, African fashion is much more than print, however nothing has marked our culture and captured our imaginations like African prints. And despite the time, it seems the culture is only getting more creative.
How often have we heard designers in Nigeria use the term “I make African print clothes with a modern twist”. Just the phrase alone indicates that our print is outdated or so culturally grounded that our current wave of fashion is light years ahead.

We have seen the modernization of African print in roughly the past two years, however it seems we are now entering the futurisation of the culture. Because these looks are actually ahead of many designs out there and yes they do work in public and not only for the runway. See these looks below.
