Kofi Kingston took on Daniel Bryan for the WWE championship at Wrestlemania 35 after several weeks of forcing his way past Vince McMahon and into the biggest match of his career.
At Wrestlemania 30 it was Daniel Bryan who overcame the odds to win the WWE championship, after months of battling with the Authority to get the shot, five years on and this time Bryan was the champion who was helping to keep Kofi Kingston down.
Kingston was lucky to get an initial shot at Bryan's title back at Elimination Chamber, earlier this year, when Ali has to pull out of the event with an injury.
The New Day member impressed so much that many believed he'd earnt a shot at Bryan for last month's Fastlane, Vince McMahon had other ideas and replaced the 37 year old with Kevin Owens.
After weeks of trials and tribulations Kingston's New Day stablemates, Big E and Xavier Woods, earned their best mate a Wrestlemania title shot 10 days ago by winning a tag team gauntlet match.
On the night Kingston and his friends had to fight off Bryan and his intellectual peer Erick Rowan but were able to overcome the odds to see the 37 year old crowned champion:

It's an incredible moment for Kingston who has been in the WWE for 11 years and has been a fans favourite throughout his time with the company.
He is a four time Intercontinental champion, three times US champion and has won a version of the tag-titles eight times but has never previously won a world champion.
It was looking like that chance in his career had gone but fate gave him another chance to become champion and he grabbed it with both hands.
