The Nigeria Examinations Committee of the West African Examinations Council yesterday decried decline in the performance of candidates in Literature-in-English with less than 25 percent pass rate at Grades A1 to C6 in 2018.

The committee, which is the highest decision-making organ of WAEC on examination-related matters in Nigeria at its meeting, urged relevant stakeholders to arrest the ugly trend.

In a statement by the head of its Public Affairs Department, Demianus Ojijeogu, the committee observed a decrease in incidence of examination malpractice in the WASSCE for candidates 2018 compared to that of 2016 and 2017.

The committee commended the council for deploying the virtual digital printing and other innovations to forestall examination malpractice.
