It is a common trend in Nigeria for Deputy Governors having the aspirations to succeed thier boss after the tenure expiration. Such was widely witnessed during the countdown to the 2007 general elections where many deputies wanted to take over from thier boss. Considering the political structure in Nigeria, none of them has been able to achieve this dream, as they are either withhunt or pressured to step aside by so called party officials
But, its not the case In Ogun State, as we countdown to last end of Gbenga Daniel Administration, the Deputy Governor, Alhaja Salmat Badru has been keeping qiuet on her intentions whether to run or not, considering the fact it is the turn of YEWA/AWORI, where she hails from, to become the next governor of the state
We have the likes, Gboyega Isiaka, Kunle Salako,( killer squad of the the OGD administration), Ibikunle amosun, Bajomo and the rest
Where is Badru here? Has she been thrown into the bin? Does she lack the Ego, Skill, manpower? Has she been left out of the political tussle in Ogun State.
