Chief Olusegun Obasanjo's outburst
Nigerians and international community as a man of honour, integrity and discipline.Could this be a wrong notion on the side of the people to ever think so. The answer is yes. People knew very little of him as a military head of state. He also caught such toga when he handed over to the civilian President Alhaji Shehu Shagari that attracted such accolades to him that he could become a member of the Eminent Personalities Club of the world.
Now hear and see the truth.
(A) General TY Danjuma told Nigerians how General Obasanjo then military head of state wanted to derail the democracy process put in place by the Supreme Military Council under the leadership of General Murtala Mohammed just for him to continue in office beyond 1979 and possibly perpetuate himself in power but General Danjuma refused and stampeded him out of office that was why he chief obasanjo handed over. But people never knew this in 1999.
(B) In 1999 he lost the election to Chief Olu Falae of ANPP but he was imposed on Nigerians by the former military juntas andtheir accomplices against the wishes of Nigerians.p
(C) In 2003 he President Obasanjo with Atiku massively rigged and manipulated the election so brazenly that the world cried out against such gangsterism, open robbery of people's mandate and dubbed it the worst election ever conducted in the history of the black world. Jimmy Carter former United state President Chief Obasanjo friend and a senior member of the Eminent Citizens Club refused to attend his inauguration for the second term as Nigerian President because of what he did during the election.
(D) In that election while collation was ongoing Obasanjo declared himself the winner of that election, collation immediately stopped all over Nigeria. In 2007 he manipulated the election again that even mad men, goats and cows all knew it and cried foul. Alhaji Umar Yar'adua who was declared winner and President under such heinous and corrupted election disclaimed his victory as rooted in a gross manipulation and outright rigging and all form of electoral malpractices. He even told the world that he didn't win the election and was prepared for a rerun election but when they went to court Obasanjo intimidated the court to give judgement to Yar'adua as the winner of the election whereas Yar'adua declared that he didn't win the election. This is the irony of Nigerian judiciary and Obasanjo's type of democracy. Under professor's Maurice Iwu then INEC chairman Nigeria under Obasanjo witnessed the worst election rigging and electoral malpractices ever seen anywhere in the world. Nigeria's economy and Nigeria nation were worst managed under President Obasanjo,he mismanage democracy, destroyed it and buried the country and democracy alive. In other words in his administration Nigeria was almost a failed state, comatose and moribund and was corruption himself and the protagonist in Nigeria. Under him President Obasanjo and PDP of President Jonathan Nigeria earned about 3 trillion USD. Such money if shared to 150 million each persons in Nigeria would have collected $20,000 which approximates 7 million Naira judging from the present exchange rate. What happened to the so-called General Abacha loot recovered by his adminstration and the humongous sum Nigeria earned from crude oil and other incidentals? Nigerians needs to know what happened. What happened to billions of USD he claimed he injected into Nigerian petroleum's refinery refurbishment and turn around maintenance in his eight years tenure alone as President and Jonathan presidency. Under PDP administration of 16 years over 50 billion USD were maxed out in electricity alone and yet there was nothing to show about it . Nigeria degenerated to a country of anything goes. Today the same man who ruined this country always want to portray himself to those who don't know him as the angel and messiah of Nigeria. All this his atrocities he did in concurrence with his then vice president and soulmate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. Now the two are telling Nigerians that the presidential election was rigged and that the economy is not going well. When they were there and had the best of time and had the highest money Nigeria ever earned when crude oil was sold at 170 dollars per barrel. What did they do with such humongous amount? They simply wished away the best opportunity Nigeria had to transform and be on part of progress. Under him President Obasanjo and his vice president he convened a national confab in 2004 aimed at restructuring Nigeria why did he not sign the report. Today himself and Abubakar are talking about restructuring Nigeria but when they had the best opportunity to do it they did not. That was a deliberate ploy to put Nigeria in the abyss it is in today. Now him President Obasanjo , Vice- President Atiku Abubakar and PDP are crying for restructuring whereas they are the people who refused to structure Nigeria and only using it to blackmail the APC and Mr President. In 2014 PDP and Good luck Jonathan convened another national confab and as in Obasanjo tenure Nigerian was fully restructured to the satisfaction of every section of Nigeria. But because of a simple paragraph that stated thus: presidency should be rotated among the six geopolitical zones Jonathan like Obasanjo and PDP refused to sign the report which was in the best interest of Nigerians and Nigeria. It was done carefully by selected Nigerians who passionately concluded that country's return to true federalism is the only way to keep Nigeria untied peaceful and progressive. Anything short of this will eventually continue to invest Nigeria with turbulence, agitation by different groups calling for separation to become separate nations. The ultimate result will be the disintegration and ethnic cleansing and unending war as in Yugoslavia and the Soviet Union. The same people and their party who destroyed Nigeria's democracy are crying wolf where there is none. They should with Obasanjo bury their heads in shame and stop deceiving Nigerians. If any person or political party should complain about electoral rigging or malpractices it should not be Chief Obasanjo and PDP.
Reasons: Chief Obasanjo, Atiku Abubakar, and Mr fix it Tony Aneni of the (blessed memory) were the doyens of election riggers in Nigeria (all leaders and founders of PDP). They wallop in delusion of grandeur. Remember Mr fix it and PDP in their hey days brazenly told Nigerians they only applied the simplest of the rigging formulae out of fourteen and Nigerians became thunder shocked and terrified. Supposing they had applied any of the more lethal formula what would people say or do. Who is fooling who?
