CANADA is a North American country stretching from the U.S. in the south to the Arctic Circle in the north. Over the years, it had been a great place of attraction and the dream of a lot of students to study and work in this country. The reason is obvious.

In 2015 alone, the country had over 350,000 students from abroad studying in the country as proved by research. This number is expected to hit an increase of of to 500,000 by 2020.




Another good and very distinguishing advantage of studying in Canada is that each of the ten (10) government provinces is responsible for the higher institutions in their provinces.



As an international student, it is very possible to work in the country without a work permit and even as a student, and after graduation also, you can easily join the Canadian work force.

Also, if you have a study permit and you are enrolled full-time in an eligible institution, you may work on-campus without a work permit.



And if you have a study permit and you are enrolled full-time in any academic, professional or vocational training program at a designated learning institution, you have the advantage of working off campus without a work permit. By designated learning institutions, we mean those institutions or schools approved by the Canadian government of a province or territory to host international students.


Working in Canada really pays very well as you can work up to 20 hours in a week as a student and their minimum wage varies from province to province, ranging from $11 and $15 per hour. You can’t compare that to what you get working yourself out in Nigeria for a whole month, from 6 AM to 6 PM. In just one week, working in Canada, for 20 hours per week, you are sure of pocketing $220 to $300 per week depending in which province you reside.
