It’s no surprise that after a while seasoned celebrities either musicians or actors move on to find other career paths.

We have seen established artiste try their hands on fashion, real estate, brand floating and other career choices.

What we didn't see coming was the great exodus of veteran actors or musicians who will not only find their high calling in politics but become hugely successful.

The likes of Desmond Elliot, Yul Edochie, Kate Henshaw have been able to transfer their genius into politics.

While it is true that some of them have not made any progress, the fervency and how it has changed the national democracy is undeniable.

It has indeed echoed the importance of the NOT TOO YOUNG TO RULE bill.

Also, their positivity, charisma, and fame as entertainers have given them an edge against their competition.

DESMOND ELLIOT

If you doubted his strengths, he was re-elected in the previously ended general election as a representative of Surulere 1 constituency.

It seems Honourable Olusola Desmond Elliot has carved a comfortable niche for himself in politics and doesn’t look like he is leaving anytime soon.

2. KATE HENSHAW

This Nollywood beauty ventured into politics in 2015, contesting for a position in the House of Representatives in Calabar South Federal Constituency both lost in the primaries.

Anayo Modestus Onyekwere is a Nigerian actor. He joined the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and had plans of winning the seat of House of Representatives, member for Ahiazu/Ezinihite Mbaise Federal Constituency in 2011.

However, he lost in the primary election. He came out this year to join the race. He once again contested for Ahiazu/Ezinihitte Mbaise federal constituency at the Imo State House of Assembly under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

Our celebrities have shown that anything is possible and anybody can be a politician. Although some believe celebrities have no position in politics, the number of celebrities that have made the government their second home has proven them wrong.

With this new crop politicians, Nigerians have found people that understand them and would give them what they want. They have given us what we want in Nollywood and they will give us the same in politics
