If you are Christians and believe in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ (celebrated during the Easter weekend), then you should be sincere enough to appreciate the sequence of events and days involved in Luke 23:46--24:9.

(1) Christ was crucified and died on the #Preparation_Day (Luke 23:46-55, especially v. 54).

We celebrate this on #Good_Friday.

(2) Jesus resurrected from the grave on the #First_Day_of_the_Week (Luke 24:1-9, especially v. 1).

We celebrate this on #Easter_Sunday.

(3) The day between Good Friday and Easter Sunday is #Saturday.

This is called the #Sabbath_Day in the storyline (Luke 23:56).

#SPECIAL_NOTES:

(a) When they buried Christ in the tomb on the *Preparation Day* #Friday (Luke 23:53), the *Sabbath* #Saturday was approaching (Luke 23:54).

(b) On the *Sabbath day,* #Saturday the disciples and the women #RESTED in obedience to the Commandment (Luke 23:56).

The #Commandment here clearly refers to the one in Exodus 20:8-11; Leviticus 23:3; Deuteronomy 5:12-15.

(c) Early in the *First Day of the week* #Sunday, they resumed work according to God's commandment (Exodus 20:9-11; Genesis 1:1--2:4) and came to the tomb to complete the process they abandoned on Friday at sunset because the Sabbath had set in (Luke 24:1).

(d) Observe that even the disciples did not rationalize the burial of our Lord Jesus Christ. Instead, they obeyed God and rested on the Sabbath day (Saturday) from what many of us today would have called #sacred_duty - burying our Lord.

The #Seventh_day_Sabbath of the Lord was changed from Saturday to Sunday by man, not by God (Daniel 7:25).

God has made Himself clear enough in the Bible that no one has any excuse (Roman's 1:20).

As God told John SEVEN TIMES, #whoever_has_an_ear, let him hear (Revelation 2:7, 11, 17, 29; 3:6, 13, 22).
