On Friday 19 April, 2019, Faye Mooney, a Mercy Corps team member working in Nigeria, was killed when gunmen stormed Kadurucastle, a vacation resort in Kaduna State, where she was visiting on holiday. A Nigerian man was also killed in the incident, while three other tourists were abducted. Faye was working as a communications specialist for aid group, Mercy Corps, and was one of 12 tourists visiting Kaduru castle from Lagos.
