Another popular phone maker is looking to make an impression in the African smartphone market. According to TechPoint, OPPO, one of the world’s leading smartphone manufacturers is looking to setup shop in Nigeria.

“We have been present in the Nigerian market since January, however we have not officially launched in the country. For now we are just setting up structures like distributor and dealership, after sales servicing,” says Joseph Adeola, PR Manager for OPPO Nigeria.

he company has long been making plans to set up shop in the continent. It recently opened up a hub in Dubai to serve as its centre of operations for the Middle East and the African continent.

OPPO is the latest Chinese smartphone market looking to expand to Nigeria and Africa. Recently, Xiaomi, another Chinese phone maker announced plans to launch officially in Nigeria.

OPPO is now set to launch on the 26th of April. 2019
