Dangerous system. He is lucky he wasn't executed. Many have gone over what they knew nothing about. It is not peculiar to Nigeria. There are such cases scattered over the world, even in developed economies. The only thing he can do now is press for compensation from the state. But I tell you, he will fight till his grave to succeed in that one here in Nigeria.

Many like him abound in the prison.

A friend of mine had a case and was remanded in the prison pending fulfillment of his bail conditions.

I went to the prison with a lawyer friend to see him. As we were about to leave, one Hausa boy started begging us to help him. I told my lawyer to wait let's hear what he has to say.

The boy told us he has bn here for 3yrs plus and that he's innocent. He's was a trailer motor boy. They stopped at one of the junctions in Imo State. He Oga went out telling him to take care of the trailer. Unfortunately, police started chasing some boys and everyone there started running. Meanwhile he was by the trailer side praying. To avoid be unlawfully arrested, he joined other ppl to run. Unfortunately, the police double crossed and arrested him. That was all. They labeled him a criminal.

They hurriedly took him to court and remanded him in the awaiting trial.
To cut the story short. We decided to take over the case. Can u imagine that wen the case was referred to court, there was no case file for the boy and he was eventually released.

Without this divine intervention, the boy would've live and die a prisoner without his people knowing his whereabout.

Many who commented here are hypocrites. How many times have u carried placards in protest for many Nigerians in prisons why awaiting trials or illegally jailed? But let a politician ....those who looted our commonwealth be held now, you all will be shouting rule of law, democracy in danger...shame
