A Medical Doctor, Nonso Egemba, popularly known as Dr Apropko has said toilet infections does not exist. Dr Nonso said this in a series of tweets on his official twitter handle on Saturday. According to him, what is called toilet infections are urinary tract infections. He said,”Toilet infections” are not gotten from the toilet. Urinary tract infections are infections of the urethra, bladder. When bacteria enters the urethra —> UTI and these bacteria are usually found in the vagina/anus and can be transferred to the urethra. So if a person with a certain type of organism uses the toilet to pee and doesn't flush will some other woman who hasn't got those same type not catch the bug? |
