The Ebonyi State Head of Service, Dr Chamberlain Nwele has applauded the cordial working relationship between Ebonyi workers and their governor, Engr David Umahi, saying, it was real reason why the state has experienced tremendous development in all sectors, in the past four years.

Dr Nwele gave the indication at the election and inauguration of new executive members of the Nigeria Labor Congress,(NLC) Ebonyi state chapter, at the Osborn Last palm Resort, Abakaliki.

The Head of Service who enumerated achievements of the present Administrative to included; Prompt payment of workers’ salaries on or before the 15th of every month, payment of the popular 13th month salary to workers, Payment of pensions and gratuities to all retirees, among other largesse, also announced the expansion of governors approval to include all civil/public servants who are on grade level 14 and above and who must be holders of first degree/Higher National Diploma in any discipline, in the current screening exercise to appoint permanent secretaries into the state civil/public service.

He maintained that Engr Umahi’s kind and intelligent disposition has kept him ahead of other governors, as he has not only met workers demands at all times, but has also ranked him first in the country, especially in the area of infrastructural development.



He advised the new labor Executives in the state to maintain the industrial harmony that had hitherto existed before their emergence as it was the only spur that could guarantee better performance, as well as peace and enabling environment for both the workers and government to thrive.

In his speech, the newly extended state chairman of Nigeria Labor Congress, (NLC), Leonard Nkah thanked the state government for its disposition towards a peaceful election and promised to always apply dialogue in resolving industrial issues, where there exist.
