Sunshine Stars defeated Akure City 3-1 to lift another State FA Cup in a tie played at the Ondo State Sports Complex yesterday.

The Nigerian Professional Football League side scored two goals in the first half through Ajiboye Otegbeye and an own goal by a City player to put them in a reason comfortably position to scoop yet another local association trophy.

Akure City however turned up the heat in the second half and were rewarded with a goal through one of their strikers but Sunshine had the last laugh as he bundled home a strike from just outside the 18 yard box following miscued ball by Akure City’s right full back.

Following the conclusion of this season’s Ondo State FA Cup final, Sunshine Stars and Akure City will now represent Ondo State at this year’s Aiteo/NFF Football Association Cup tournament.
