Gone are the days when Nigeria had tough men and women, all politically active and would rather die for their beliefs.
Now, it's only those as soft as Agidi we have especially this our generation of youths parading about like Yahaya Bello.
Gone were those days of Fela, Gani Fawehinmi, even Wole Soyinka in his hay days. Fela's mother's set was another set of tough people.
Na wah o, and we youths have more to lose smh

Absolutely. Even if we didn't practice true communism, but implementing the ideas would have taken us far.
Most Russian cities only had one or two different building designs, usually high rise, and then they build it endlessly ensuring every family has a home. Nobody tells you to have one child or two, because you are only entitled to a room and parlour apartment with kitchen and toilets. Every one of such building is centrally piped for electricity, gas, and telephone. Then Industries and farms I are built nearby. They did this as if they were running out of time.

That is what I saw Gaddafi's Libya did. Libya had nothing. But when oil was discovered, Gaddafi used communist ideas and mentality to develop his country with the oil money as if there was no time. He also knew the USA would not like this, so he ensured he didn't democracy, because that's the easiest way for America to come in. Communism doesn't play with knowledge, it's always seeking to know things before it becomes common knowledge.

While studying in Russia, Libya had several spies and diplomats all over the country doing only God knows what. The one in my city wasn't a student but was always trying to know things and promote unity sometimes within the African clique and another time arabs. I never still do not understand his mission - he was known by the school authorities, the city's military institutions and police. He had money. In his Embassy, he was highly regarded. A young guy o.

No doubt, Nigeria would have become a force to reckon it. In fact, we would be talking of nuclear power generation by now if people like Olufunmilayo Ranaome-Kuti, Awolowo and Tai Solarin (All of them Socialists) handled the affairs of this country for 10 years at the centre. But then, our loss!

1. Chief Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti, the first woman to drive a car in Nigeria, was a teacher, political campaigner, women's rights activist and traditional aristocrat in Nigeria.

2. She was an avid traveler. She had traveled to many countries around the world.

3. Prior to Nigeria’s independence - specifically during the Cold War – she traveled to the former USSR, Hungary and China, where she met Mao Zedong – the communist revolutionary.

4. Her trip to countries in the Eastern bloc angered the Nigerian colonialist government, as well as British and American governments.

5. In 1956, the government did not renew her passport because it was believed that her intention was to influence Nigerians, especially women, with communist ideas and policies.

6. She was also refused a U.S. visa because the American government alleged that she was a communist.

7. She was one of the delegates who negotiated Nigeria's independence with the British government.

8. She was a winner of the Lenin Peace Prize. The Prize was awarded by the Soviet Government to notable individuals, prominent Communists and supporters of the Soviet Union who were not Soviet citizens.

9. In February 1978, she was thrown down from the window of a 3-storey building (Kalakuta Republic) belonging to her musician son, Fela. This happened when a thousand military personnel stormed the building. She lapsed into a coma and later died on 13 April 1978, from injuries she sustained from the fall.

10. Sometime in 2012, to immortalize her, her picture was being considered to be on the proposed N5000 note. The Nigerian government later withdrew the idea for a N5000 note.

great woman of all time, sun re oooooo mama

Dull minds won't understand this your writeup, Libyans will forever regret what they did to Gadaffi, fools, see how wrecked their country is now, before they reach the level of development of Nigeria in this world it might take them decades, this is Libya that was almost at par with UAE before the crazy arab spring

May be he did it out of jealous, because Ransom Kuti Family was and still a strong family in Yoruba land and the whole country.

Hausa man can never allowed that. Imagine Buhari allowing military to kill Kwankwaso Mother ! It will never happen.

But Yoruba undecided especially Baba forming the first Army General from Odua soil.
