Just go to ikeja and trek down to shoprite, you will see lot of cars that are already in Nigeria, you can even try Oshodi Abeokuta express way, by the time you get to Abule Egba you will see plenty cars, or just navigate towards Agege/ogba or berger... Still can't find come down to ebutte metta down to yaba then connect ikorodu axis... Or festac to Ojo side should do the magic too... Lot of cars are parked on Nigeria soil not a must you buy the one that is showing closed deal on SNOW soil grin

Here...have it Pulitzer Price!

Oh, I now understand him.

Even Toyota (as a company) can’t imagine the kind of patronage they have in naija.

Toyota ain't feeling Nigeria's patronage cos most Nigerians buy used cars.

Toyota would have set up in Nigeria by now if we were buying new Toyotas.

My opinion

All the coaster buses and hiace buses procured by Transport Companies and Government Agencies/Parastatals every year nko, toyota hilux by corporations and government, Landcruiser Prado and Lexus for VIPs nko? I believe there are other factors that would determine and propel a company to set up business anywhere:

Cheap Labour, Forex and Economic Stability, Availability of Raw Materials, Market, Security, Infrastructure, Flexible and friendly Government Policies, etc.

India, China, Indonesia, Vietnam, East Asia as a whole still boasts of the cheapest Labour and many other factors mentioned above. Just set up outlets here in Nigeria for the Market JUST LIKE MOBILE PHONE COMPANIES ARE CURRENTLY DOING!

They'll have generate their own power, pay for their own security, deal with decaying infrastructure or build their own infrastructure (think of Dangote, Churches, etc building motor-able roads to their factories and churches), bribe government agencies and officials (Customs, FIRS, NPA, NPF, SON, etc). A company that can't have a stable or, at least, workable long term business forecast due to some of these factors will be skeptical doing business anywhere.

My opinion.

Don’t be deceived, Nigeria is a good market for Toyota, I don’t mean used Toyota’s, I mean brand new.

Toyota Hilux used by banks, CBN, even Boko boys up north use brand new Toyota hilux.

Remember “Toyota Corolla ‘Bank Type’ “ how that car was massively bought new and used by banks.
