Hello Amdman, please, how do I know when to change my gear oil? I got the ride from you in May 2019 and I've been using it w/o changing the transmission fluid since then. Isn't it due for a change?

When you get answer and Whenever you want to change the gear oil, please use recommended gear oil for your car. If You dont know, google or ask various car gurus on NL.

Please and please, dont listen to any gear oil recommendation from your mechanic which might be different from officially recommended oil.

I would say change immediately and keep your own records but that depends on the vehicle. Some vehicles respond badly to transmission oil change especially when it has been left for too long

Am thinking low-priced cars can be a good deal for the Nigerian market. These cars will usually have any of the following characteristics:

Clean titles
High Mileage
Minor faults, etc.

For example, the 2007 Honda Accord below can land in Nigeria for 700k (purchase price and shipping. You arrange and pay for cost of clearing). Has a mileage of 383,000.

Generally, the clearing cost for shipping will depend on the age, model, type, etc of the vehicle and will range from N300k to about N600k.
