Please a friend needs your advice as he needs to make a decision as soon as possible.

He is an Engineer with a a private company earning about N450K / month. He got a fed govt scholarship to do his PhD in Germany. He is confused on what to do.

The PhD will require him to learn the language as quickly as possible to make his learning better. He also has to move with his family as he does not want to stay far from his family.

He is more concerned about prospects after the PhD hence his confusion.

Pls let him go, he should not fear, things will definitely work out for him. What if after 6 months they retrench him ?

Our doubts are traitors and make us lose the good we often may win by fearing to attempt

True, you can never tell what will happen....Yes, his doubts and language challenge are what is confusing him. How easy / difficult is it to learn the language

Anyone with experience here?

Very soon that 450k will have no value.

Kids growing by the day with increase in cost of training them.

Standard of living will also increase.

Prospects of securing a better job in Nigeria is relatively low.

He should do this for the sake of his children.

The scholarship might have a clause that he needs to return after the programme, but am sure the family will be able to stay back.

He can now relocate to join them later.
