Thunder Lighting Strikes has been causing havoc on hybrid system, especially inverter and solar connection points at the receiving end by blowing it out, in many cases rendering them in repairable
Noticable is that most installer of hybrid system do NOT realise the utmost need to earth the system.
Solution: The neutral of the solar panels cable that is connected to the solar controller must serve as earth, that means, run a sizable wire at least 4mm sq from the neutral point of the solar controller to the earthing point in the consumer's box.
Same as the inverter earth terminal.
Same as the neutral point of the battery bank that join with inverter neutral wire must ran to same earthing terminal of your clients consumer's box.
Note that most homes are not properly electrically earthed, to be sure run an earth test or inquire or locate the earthing point in your client property, if it does not exist insist on it been installed. For old homes don't be fooled, most electrician do add salt, animal manure and charcoal when earthing a building, you need not be convinced what salt will do on the earth rod point where the earth wire is joined.
You may need if necessary install surge arrester, don't depend on stabilizer as I have seen in some installed system.
