Governor Rochas Receives 3 Licenses From NUC For New Universities Established in Imo State

The Governor of Imo state, His Excellency, Governor Rochas Okorocha and Senator-elect in the just concluded 2019 elections, has received three Licenses from the National University Commision-NUC for three universities which he established in the state.

This was made known to newsmen through his media aide in the early hours of today. He confirmed that the licences for the universities were a certification of it's authorised operation and a legal confirmation of its distinctive standards.

The National University Commision handed Governor Rochas the licence, for Imo state University of Medical Science in Gboko, Imo state University of Creative Technology located at Umuma Isiaku and the Imo state University of Science and Technology. According to reports this was in view of the governor's interest in improving education and academic standards in Imo state.

It could be recalled that two weeks ago Okorocha was also at NUC to collect the license for Imo state University of Agriculture and environmental sciences, in Agoh/Ngor. He stressed on the prolific opportunities the licenced certificate will create in Agoh/Ngor community and the Imo state.

Governor Rochas Okorocha has remained committed to a government that is creating easy paths and leverage burdens for successive governments, especially in areas of education, human capital development and structural development in Imo state.

Posterity will be kind to Rochas. A time when we must have forgotten his loud mouth and iberiberism, Imolites will remember that a governor made a spirited effort and contributions towards Education. No matter the politics one might ascribe this to, Okorocha has done well.

One achievement I can not deny this governor Okorocha. Maybe after analysis of his 8 years in office the governor can score a pass mark. Time will tell.

Too many universities in Nigeria, yet no impact on our economy and no contributions to knowledge. University degree In Nigeria is equivalent to first school leaving certificate of those days. Sadly more are established every year. Unfortunately this is the only business that looted funds are invested in. Remember Odili and others.

One at Ogboko and the other at UmumaIsiaku, two neighbouring communities. Ogboko Okorocha's hometown will now have two Universities, Imo State University of Medical Science and Eastern Palm University.

Okorocha worked without noise of project flag off and stands out unchallenged as the Governor to have executed most projects in history of Nigeria. His projects cannot be completely visited in 2 weeks of touring the State because they are in thousands.

If The Op Didn't Make Mistake Then It Is Greediness That Will Kill Rochas. He Is Siting Imo State Univercity Of Medical Science At Ogboko His Village. Imo State University Of Creative Technology Umuma Isiaku. And The Existing Eastern Palm University At Ogboko. For Clearification, Umuma Isiaku Is A Mother Community To Ogboko. Ogboko Was A Village In Umuma Isiaku Before It Was Created As A Community. Why Will Imo State Owned 3 Universities Be Sited In One Community? Not To Talk Of Local Govt. Okorocha Left Imo State University Hospital Without Access Road. He Relocated Imo State School Of Nursing To Same Ogboko. I Hope Okorocha Understand That The Incoming Governor Has Power To Relocate Those Institutions From Ogboko. Okorocha Is Throughly Greedy

it doesn't make any sense. because Mr A is not doing well in class the his brother shouldn't go to school yet. while seeking for better ways to funding our universities we have to build more facilities to accommodate the teeming population to go acquire more education after secondary school. tell mW what is the capacity of IMO own state university?. won't it be wise and nice to create specialized universities which the government just did where in future, financing will be specific according to there contribution in the economy. mind you funding also comes from worldbank, research agencies, industries, and UN. so think deeper before talking.

I guess that's the best any governor has done for his state recently.

Focus on modernizing and funding the current schools that are there. Average community colleges in Canada and elsewhere look better than any of the post secondary institutions in Nigeria
