I've seen a lot of Nigerian 2D and 3D animators with great models, great rigs, superb texture and lightening, but very very very poor storyline.

Truth is that art is all about bringing different piece to make a whole. Like drawing involves shapes, lines etc.
Animation involves sculpting, rigging, modeling, motions et al...
.
My advice is that y'all independent animators should look for good script writers and storytellers to partner with. This industry involves partnership, you can't do it all...

You either pay to buy cool stories or partner with a good storyteller for your shorts. This singular action will give you an edge...

Work with other animators too. Art is a big industry, y'all need each other...
