In their drive to get the University fully digitized in all ramifications Imo State University Owerri is set to adopt E-voting Method for it's SUG elections. The first of it's kind in Nigeria. Speaking during a sensitization seminar for the students, the Dean Student Affairs of the institution Prof Martins Uchenna hinted that it will help curb illegal malpractices and unrest the paper ballot system have caused over the years. The portal for voting would be available to students who have registered on the institution's official website for students with their Matric Number. A survey of the student's reaction was a mixed one as some expressed their delight while others cued in the possibility of being manipulated.
