#Addiction is a complex #disease, often chronic in nature, which affects the functioning of the brain and body. This disease, which also causes serious #damage to families, #relationships, #schools, workplaces and #neighborhoods, is the result of repeated involvement with a substance or activity, despite the substantial harm it now causes, because that involvement was (and may continue to be) pleasurable and/or valuable.
