UDOM: An Inlaw and A Bridge Builder

The 6.4km Nto Edino - Ekwerazu Road has suddenly become the major route linking Akwa Ibom and by extension Cross River State, with the South East and the rest of Nigeria.

This road in Obot Akara becomes more significant with the total collapse of the Ikot Ekpene / Umuahia Road and the Ikot Ekpene/Aba Road which have kept appearing in the National budget since 2016 without any attention.

The project which was awarded to SEYANG Engineering Services, an indigenous construction firm, by Governor Udom Emmanuel comes with two bridges and has become a cynosure to behold.

Earlier today, we visited the project location and were received by the MD/CEO of SEYANG Engr. Sam Inyang whose passion and delivery of the project, suggests that indigenous contractors are unnecessarily underrated.

From the commuters, the school children, the farmers and the residents, the people were unequivocal in celebrating their Governor for remembering them after years of neglect.

Obot Akara people appreciated Governor Udom Emmanuel because he is their inlaw, they loved him because he supported their son to emerge as a Senator, and above all they voted him, because he bridged the gap of underdevelopment in their communities.

Akwa Ibom is just a lucky state. I come from a state where the governor has not commissioned a project in his first four years and has now been reelected for another term in office.
