The Nexus Between Religion And Economic Development by Nobody: 8:19am On May 12, 2019
The Nexus between religion and economic development: How has religion impacted the discharge of duty by an average Nigerian in the civil service, political sphere, private sector, and family unit?. Has religious values been successfully transmitted and imbibed by significant Nigerians?.
An Empirical review: three indexes will suffice and lead us to research findings and conclusions.
First, the corruption perception index
Second, misery index.
Third, spectator index.(see pictures)
Findings:
1.Nigeria is the 2nd most praying nation Vis a Vis China ranked as the least praying nation.
2. Nigeria ranks very low in both the corruption perception index and misery index.
Two things comes to mind and will be wrapped up in the following statements.
Nigeria is an ardent praying country and by extension, a highly religious country.
It is believed all over the world that 'people' are the most important resource in any system. If people go to churches and mosques and are being thought moral values, one of which is LOVE. Then, how come we are the most improvised?, How come our leaders failed us, how come civil servants are very corrupt, how come internet fraud is prevalent in Nigeria, how come there are ritualists and kiapnappers everywhere. Yet we go to churches, mosques, lift up filthy hands, on Monday through Saturday, we are back to our fraudulent ways. Is it not? You successfully defrauded your company and run it down.

The answer is not far fetched, religious values and principles have not been successfully transmitted by our religious institutions. I have millions today, imam and pastors will give me front seat, not minding how I got those wealth. Religious institutions that are expected to checkmate people's excesses encourage them the more
What is the goal of our message when we mount the alter to preach.

You are asking all of the wrong questions...
Religion never stopped any society from being corrupt. Laws do! The people take their destinies in their hands, remove oppressive regimes, enforce their choices and get the desired results e.g Orang revolution, Arab uprising etc, Or a radical leader comes in play and changes everything for good. E.g Lee Khan yew, Theodore Roosevelt etc.

Is government being runned by machines or people?...does those people have religious believe or not, what is the usefulness of being most religious and not being able to influence followers?
How do we measure the performance of these religious institutions. Character or number of followers. It's disheartening.

Religion doesn't necessarily help in development of any nation but I know true Christianity(not Christian religion) has been a major factor in the development of most western nations over the last 2-3 centuries.

But is Christianity a Religion? If so, is it an effective religion?

Is Prayer an effective religious activity?

Can you please explain for us how Christianity has been a factor in the development of western nations. And also how it only happened in the last 2 -3 hundred years while Christianity has been in Europe since the 1st century AD.

Also Why it didn't do the same for other Christian nations like Ethiopia and Eastern Europe?

Why the wrong question? Someone is studying and the connection between religion and economic welfare and you say he's asking the wrong question. Does that make sense?

It's either there is a connection, positive or negative, or there is no connection at all.
