Every time you explore the web, you’re bound to run into tons of pictures on just about every HTML5 and CSS3 page you visit.

Four Ways Images Are Use On Web Pages

Background images: An image can be used as a background for the entire page or for a specific part of the page. Images usually require some special manipulation to make them suitable for background use.
Custom bullets: With CSS, you can assign a small image to be a bullet for an ordered or unordered list. This allows you to make any kind of customized list markers you can draw.
External link: The page has text with a link embedded in it. When the user clicks the link, the image replaces the page in the web browser. To make an externally linked image, just make an ordinary link, but point toward an image file, rather than an HTML (HyperText Markup Language) file.
Embedded images: The image is embedded into the page. The text of the page usually flows around the image. This is the most common type of image used on the web.

Steps To Add Image On A Web Page
1,Identify the image you want to use.

Be sure you have permission to use the image on your site.

2.Modify the image if necessary.

It’s best to resize your images before you use them on the web.

3.Choose your image type.

If your image is in a format other than web-friendly .jpg, .gif, or .png, use a tool like IrfanView or Gimp to change it to one of these formats.

4.Put your image in the right place.

Put your image file in the same directory as the HTML file. That way, when you post your page to the server, you can move the image as well.

5.Use the tag to indicate the image.

Embed this tag inside a

(paragraph) or (division) pair so that the page validates correctly.

6.Include an alt attribute that describes the image.
