The supporters of Chinese Super League club Hebei China Fortune appear to have got their wish after manager Chris Coleman was sacked.


A banner reading 'Hello Mr Coleman, please go home! You're fired" appeared in the stands during a 3-2 home defeat by Henan Jianye which left the club second from bottom of the table.

Coleman, 48, had endured a torrid start to life in China with Hebei winning once, drawing twice and losing six times in their opening nine games, leaving them in the relegation zone.

He was only appointed last June as successor to Manuel Pellegrini, who came to the Premier League to manage West Ham.

A statement appeared on Hebei's social media accounts on Wednesday confirming the Welshman had been dismissed.

A a statement on the club's website read:

We sincerely thank Coleman for his hard work and contribution, and hope that he will go well in his future work and life.


It came after the club released a statement following their latest defeat on Saturday reading:


We let you down and we can't make any excuses for the recent performances. We have to say to you, sorry.
