Can't you understand simple English? Are Corpers not FG employees?

Corpers are not employees, go and educate yourself the meaning of employees with your dictionary and then compare that with National Youth Service Corps.

By the way, they say the minimum wage will be reviewed for all workers earning above 30,000, is there any salary variation among youth corps? all corpers earn the same.

I'm struggling to see the logic in your submission are you aware that this minimum wage has been subjected to several committee reviews prior to the eventual signing into law..or are you saying that the discrepancies in the salary structures across ministries, agencies and MDAs has not always been there,...shouldn't they have done a more thorough job at harmonizing all the scales before the eventual passing of the bill and signing into law..

What else are the constituting government bodies listed amongst this committee doing all this while, the simple truth is that mediocrity and incompetence reigns supreme in our public service, little wonder the country is in its present pitiable state.

FG isn't twerking the minimum wage. They only want to close/reduce the gap between the high earners and the low earners.

Are you sure buhari wants to pay this money?? What do the committee need four weeks for. Each ministry already have a chart for the new pay. For agencies collecting above the new amount, all that is needed is new percentage adjustment.

The Federal Government yesterday inaugurated a 22-man committee to negotiate the consequential adjustment in salaries arising from the new national minimum wage.

President Muhammadu Buhari had before the passage of the new minimum wage bill stated that the salaries of all those earning above the minimum wage would be reviewed.

The inauguration of the committee by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr. Boss Gida Mustapha, came one month after President Buhari signed the national minimum wage bill into law.

The committee, which has four weeks to conclude and submit its reports, is chaired by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HoCSF), Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita. The SGF will also serve as the Alternate Chairman.

The members of the committee from the government side are the ministers of Labour and Employment, Budget and National Planning, Education, Health and Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice.

Others are Director General, Budget Office of the Federation, Secretary, Federal Judicial Service Commission, Secretary, National Assembly Service Commission, and Chairman, National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission who is to serve as Member/Secretary. On the side of the Trade Unions, 10 representatives have been nominated by the Joint National Public Service Negotiation Council as members.

Mustapha said the primary mandate of the committee will be to negotiate the consequential adjustment in salaries arising from the new national minimum wage.
“I have no doubt in my mind that you have abundant literature, reports and other materials to help this assignment. The duration of the assignment is four clear weeks from this inauguration. It is expected that the Committee will work assiduously to complete the assignment,” the SGF said.
