In 2014, 6.4 million Nigerian graduates assembled in various stadia across 37 states(including FCT) of Nigeria battling for only 4000 vacant positions in the Nigeria immigration Service……….. Stampedes resulted in tragedy; people died.

The former Minister for Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, once stated that no fewer than 1.8 million graduates in the country move into the labour market every year. Hmmm! But the question is HOW MANY OF THESE GRADUATES GET EMPLOYED OR GET A JOB OF THEIR CHOICE. Most of which are either under-employed or un-employed.

To worsen the situation, In 2016,RECESSION caught up with our economy. BUSINESSES CLOSED DOWN, JOBS WERE LOST,PARENTS RELOCATED THEIR CHILDREN BACK TO NIGERIA FROM SCHOOLS ABROAD, MARRIAGES CRUMBLED, CAR OWNERS became TAXI DRIVERS,THE SOUND OF MMM BECAME SUCCOUR TO GREEDY NIGERIANS WHO LATER LOST ALL TO PONZI SCHEMES. The entrepreneurial skills in us lie fallow and useless, we resolve to remain in the employee quadrant getting little or nothing on our tables. Cost of living increasing but salaries remain constant.

Did I hear you say “we accept what life throw at us “ ? No! surely you have the power to choose what you want to become. Aliko Dangote, Otunba Gadafi (DMT MOBILE TOILET),Mike Adenuga, Bill Gate, among others, finds a meaning to their existence and lay a lasting legacy for their coming generation. These people didn’t start business because they were rich or had so much money to start, rather they started to become rich which they have achieved now.

GET UP! ENOUGH OF STAYING IN YOUR COMFORT ZONE, ENOUGH OF WASTING YOUR LIFE BUILDING OTHER PEOPLE’S DREAM, do you want to wait till you have no strength to build your own dreams or when there are no people to build yours? It’s time to pay that sacrifice that the generations after you will be proud you made.
