NANS commends MAPOLY, TASCE Heads for developing schools

*Accuses Amosun of putting education in state of coma

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has lauded the Rector of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Dr Samson Odedina, for developing the school despites daunting challenges.

The students also commended the Provost of Tai Solarin College of Education in Omu-Ijebu, Dr Lukman kiadese, for elevating the physical structure in the school.

This was disclosed in a press statement jointly signed by NANS National Public Relations Officer, Comrade Adeyemi Azeez and Chairman in Ogun State, Bamgbose Tomiwa.

The statement read in parts", the leadership of NANS, in her bid to access the state of education, resolved to embark on campus/facility tour on campuses.

"NANS make bold to say that some institutions within ogun state had suffered obvious set back, with no physical developmental projects for over Seven years.

"NANS make bold to commend some institutions, even when it is known to all, that they've as well suffered less or no subventions from the state government, but the managements of such institutions had tried enough in looking beyond the subventions from the state govt.

"NANS commends the rector of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Dr Samson Odedina, for changing the school in totality from its known moral impunity, unstable peace within the campus and it's environs, establishing a second to none Rector-Staff- students relationship chain, thereby making the school a worthy model to other schools within and beyond the state.

"NANS implores the rector not to relent in his good managerial approach and be rest assured of continuous and unflinching supports of Nigerian students, as much as he remains commited to good styles.

"NANS also visited TASCE, Omu ijebu Ode, after receiving some distress letters, requesting the urgent intervention of NANS to resolve the Provost and staff crisis, as it has no doubt affects the lives of many promising Nigerian students, thereby extended there proposed years of stay on campus.

"After hearing in details from the coalition of TASCE staff and the school registrar, NANS frowns at the administration of Senator Ibikunle Amosun for putting the state of education in Ogun State in a state of coma. No doubt, the head to tail of this crisis lies on the lackadaisical attitudes of the governor to the School.

"NANS also calls on the divided coalition of taste staff, to reunite, thereby push for realistic positions/demands,devoid of any selfish or politically motivated demands, as alleged by some faction of the coalition of TASCE staff during NANS visitation to the school.

"NANS equally commend the efforts of the provost of TASCE, Dr Lukman Kiadese, for the highly commendable and status elevating physical projects, completed and ongoing in the school, TASCE has no doubt worth a standard of university in terms of buildings the schools owns at present.

"NANS calls on Governor Ibikunle Amosun to pay all unpaid accumulated salaries of the TASCE staff, and also appeal to the staff of TASCE to allow the provost of the school resume to office, as that approach to such well spelt struggle is not the best".
