The SE coaching job is for Samson Siasia. Nigerians will accept no other person.
Eguavoen has been engaged to execute the Guinea game in Conakry. Dangerous Conakry - No Nigerian team has ever won there. Guinea also won in Ethiopia where even Westerhof was beaten hands down.

If Eguavoen avoids a defeat there, he will put himself in pole position to lead Nigeria to ACN 2012. That's if no one announces a new coach next week as promised. Siasia has not negotiated for the position cleverly, and he has gradually hurt his profile lately - by winning only 2 of his last 11 competitive games!

As he (SSS) reflects on what went wrong with Heartland, Eguavoen heads to Guinea with a 100% win rate in his previous qualifying games for nigeria - one of many records he might not even know he has,

1. 9 in FIFA Ranking - only 3 coaches have led African countries under the top 10 (Westerhof 94, Eguavoen 07 and Shehata 2010)
2. Won all 3 games in ACN group - since Nigeria started attending the ACN, only Eguavoen won all 3 (1st round) group matches.
3. 10 victories out of 11 competitive matches - No other african coach has that win rate.
4. 5 wins in 5 previous qualifying games - Westerhof lost 2 of first 5, Amodu drew 2.
5. Scoring 5 goals in Algeria - No other coach in the world had achieved that.
6. Coaching a european 1st division team - Only African coach to have done that.
Highest winning margin for Nigeria - Egu 6:0 Benin, Westerhof 7:1 Bukina fasso
8. Assistant under : Bonfere, Chukwu, Vogts, Cooreman, Lagerback
9. Nigeria FA cup winner - Enyimba 2009
10. Qualified Nigeria for U17WC - 2003 after Salami messed up with the team in Meridan cup.

A big favour Eguavoen will be doing for the Nation and his successor if he gets a result there. Goodluck to him.

@op,
from ur analyses which i did not bother reading thru, eguavon can only be compared to the likes of mourinho, ferguson, wenger, ancellotti etc abi?
going by ur analysis, where is nigeria now in the latest fifa ranking?
are u an agent of deciet or wat?
we are expecting eguavon to take over completely because after amodu, comes eguavon and after eguavon comes amodu. it will pay u the more to forget and save ur backyard analyses for someother days because what u shld be talking abt here is the nigerian factor which has made amodu and eguavon sole beneficiaries of the super eagles coaching job.

Eguavoen has handled the Super chicken and failed. Though, he has updated himself with some coaching programmes lately but let Siasia take over and see what the chicken will become(maybe EAGLES).

You people are funny in this place.  cheesy grin

Siasia is good but not the messiah you feel he is.

Same guy that conceded 3 goals to 10 men in one half in Egypt, beat only a 9 man Tahiti, or the one that came last with Heartland in CL after losing al the away matches?

Eguavoen remains Eagles coach
September 24, 2010

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have given by far the strongest indication that Austin Eguavoen will be confirmed to qualify the Super Eagles for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.

Eguavoen has been the Eagles caretaker coach since the exit of former Sweden coach Lars Lagerback in July.

And now head of NFF technical department, James Peters, has disclosed the former international defender will be in charge of the team for the qualifying tournament for Nations Cup in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon.

“Eguavoen has done well so far and he will see us through the qualifiers for the Nations Cup,” Peters told MTNFootball.com.

The coach has insisted he will not apply for the job after the NFF decided earlier in September to ask for applications from both foreign and local coaches.

This is Eguavoen’s second spell as head of the national team. In 2005, he took over from Christian Chukwu soon after Nigeria were forced to a 1-1 draw by closest rivals Angola in a crucial World Cup qualifier in Kano.

However, a late rally by Nigeria could not stop Angola from qualifying for their first World Cup in Germany.

Eguavoen will then lead the Eagles to finish third at the 2006 Nations Cup in Egypt.

He has thus far led the Eagles to beat Madagascar 2-0 in a Nations Cup qualifier in Calabar after his team fell 2-1 to South Korea in a friendly in August.

He was soon after the 2010 World Cup, where he assisted Lagerback, offered to take over the country’s Olympic team after his teammate from the 1994 World Cup, Samson Siasia, was locked in negotiations with the NFF to take charge of the Eagles.

Officials regard him as matured, while his critics see him as an establishment man, who does not ant to ruffle the feathers so as stay in the good books of his employers.

This week, Nigeria sports minister, Ibrahim Bio, charged the NFF management to appoint a substantive coach immediately after next month’s Nations Cup qualifier against Guinea in Conakry.
