Top 10 Nigerians That May Be More Powerful Than Buhari

President Buhari, is undoubtedly the most powerful man in Nigeria. However, it doesn’t remove the fact that there are others who are also powerful and highly influencial in the Nigerian dispensation. Below is a list by listing 10 other powerful Nigerians that may be more powerful than Buhari. Enjoy!

embarassed1. Alhaji Aliko Dangote:Aliko Dangote is known to be the richest man in Africa with a net worth of about 10 billion dollars. With little interest in Nigerian politics, it is quite surprising that Nigerian politicians take him in high regard; thanks to his contributions in various sectors of the Nigerian economy. With the amount of money attributed to him, it is no longer news that Dangote’s influence can be felt much more than the President Muhammadu Buhari.

2. Abba Kyari: A retired brigadier general by profession, Abba Kyari is no stranger to the realms of power in Nigeria; having been in “high places” since the Yakubu Gowon era. Many speculate that he uses his power as the chief of staff to the president to influence the president; this gained momentum when Aisha Buhari, the first lady cried out alleging that her husband’s presidency has been hijacked. Abba Kyari is one of the suspected hijackers.

3. Chief Olusegun Obasanjo:Nigeria’s former visionary president Olusegun Obasanjo has always been a powerful man. Right from his days as the Military head of state in the 1970s, OBJ as he is fondly called is a man whose influence as refused to wane even as a very old man. He is known to be a major influence in General elections in Nigeria, with his choice always winning; though he was a bit unfortunate that his recent choice Alhaji Atiku Abubakar couldn’t pull through as President Buhari won him in the just concluded 2019 General elections.

4. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala:A lady of relevant substance, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala’s power and influence extends beyond the shores of Nigeria as she doesn’t wield much power in Nigeria though having served as Financial Minister during Goodluck Jonathan’s era. Trained as an Economist, she sits on the boards of Standard Chartered Bank, Twitter, Global Alliance For Vaccines and Immunization and the African Risk Capacity. With regards to global impact and relevance, she is more recognized than the President.

5. Alhaji Ahmed Bola Tinubu:The foremost Yoruba elder since the demise of Chief Obafemi Awolowo, was a former Governor of Lagos whose power and influence is highly felt throughout Yoruba land. This man alone determines who is Governor in any South Western state. Just recently, his relationship with the incumbent Governor of Lagos Akinwunmi Ambode whom he installed hit the rocks and he made his decision by ensuring Ambode does not win his second term as he switched support to another who went ahead to win the elections. In decisions concerning Lagos and South western Nigeria, his influence obviously exceeds President Buhari’s own.

6. Alhaji Mamman Daura:Mamman Daura is the nephew of President Buhari. Although he holds no political position, he is an important decision maker as to who emerges minister of the various governmental agencies with special preference to those of northern extraction. He is highly perceived to be the head of the cabal Aisha Buhari once lamented about.

7. Goodluck Jonathan:The quiet reserved former Nigerian President is a Nigerian whose influence and power as refused to wane. Thanks to his outstanding leadership as president which saw Nigeria become one of the fastest growing economy after China and Qatar back in 2014. His government however was marred by deep corruption in almost all the sectors.

8. HRH Sa’ad Abubakar:He is the current Sultan of Sokoto. As Sultan, he is the spiritual leader of more than 70 million Muslims in Nigeria. With his position as Sultan, he commands more respect from all the emirs in Nigeria including the presidency.

9. Pastor Enoch Adeboye:An average Nigerian Christian would prefer to obey this man than even the president! Not surprising though due to the religious nature of Nigerians. Enoch Adeboye is the pastor to one of the largest churches in Nigeria and has once been named as one of the most powerful people by an International media outlet.

10. Amina Jane Mohammed:An outstanding woman of class and character, she serves as the former Minister of Environment under President Buhari before appointed as the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations. From 2012, she was key player in the Post-2015 Development Agenda process, serving as the Special Adviser to former UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon on Post 2015 development planning.

Adeboye and Obasanjo won't agree with you, 'cos they know that Power belongs to God only. They are not Atheists like you.

Seriously? Na over do be this na. Op's post is about men and not God(s). He/she didn't say men stronger than God(s). If you think men are totally powerless, how did you even comment in the first place without material, physical and financial power?
