*Student Dies In Health Centre Due To Lack Of Oxygen Support*

In what can be considered as a foreseen tragedy due to the long-talked about poor management and condition of the health centre, a student of the university lost his life in the early hours of today at the health centre.

A part three (3) student of the department of Microbiology identified as Omolola Korede was said to have died after slumping this morning during a football match on OAU training pitch. Korede who featured as a defender in his department's Novelty match between freshmen and stallites fell down without any phyiscal contact.

According to witnesses, he developed a breathing difficulty and started gasping for breath. He was rushed to the health centre in a friend's car immediately the situation got worse.

Friends of Korede who tried to save him said he was still alive at the time of arrival at health centre. However, the lack of neccesary medical apparatus to supply Oxygen made Korede to give up the ghost. An eye witness claimed he was wrongly administered a drip instead of an Oxygen support.

Shockingly, in a series of documents obtained by GIW, it has been confirmed that a woman believed to be a staff at the health centre had lobbied by telling students around that nobody should post that he died at health center but should rather post that he died before getting to health center.

Afterwards, his dead body was taken to OAUTHC mortuary with the Health Centre Ambulance. Even, at the mortuary, it was confirmed that they faced difficulties before they were attended to.

Albeit, in a recent release by the school registrar, which can be considered as the first of it's kind, when it comes to matters of students' emergency, she claimed that the student died before arrival at the health centre.

We should recall that this platform has previously published several reports about the poor management and condition of the health centre which has resulted in further complicated health cases for students. On numerous occasions, students who suffer critical health conditions are not promptly attended to at the health centre, and those who are lucky to receive prompt treatment might be prescribed wrong drugs which is believed to be due to the lack of substantial supply of adequate drugs to the health centre.

In a conversation with our correspondent, a female student once revealed how she nearly lost her pregnancy due to a wrong diagnosis by the doctor at the health centre. She claimed she was diagnosed and treated of Ulcer while her condition was due to a developing pregnancy.

Attached with this report is the signed release by the University Registrar. Also, attached are screenshots of conversation/post with an eye-witness.

They should have rushed him straight to the OAU Teaching Hospital from the onset since they were already aware of the deplorable state of the health centre.

Every Nigerian student should know about CPR.

Look at the field... Look at where OAUTH is.

If he needed an urgent attention, Health Centre would've been the fastest.

Superman once watched an episode of Walker, Texas Ranger. He then cried himself to sleep.
