In-demand Matthijs De Ligt has been spotted in Barcelona amid speculation he is set for a summer switch to the Nou Camp.

But all is not as it seems, with the defender simply joining his Ajax team-mates on a trip to the Spanish city to celebrate their Dutch league and cup double.

The Amsterdam club have enjoyed a stunning season, with De Ligt captaining them to a domestic double as well as reaching the Champions League semi-finals.

Their squad jetted to Spain on Friday night and were spotted landing at El Prat Airport in the city at around 10:30pm.
