Ex Super Eagles players of the 90s like JayJay Okocha, Finidi George, Peter Rufai, Daniel Amokachi, Aghaghowa, and others played a novelty football match supporting Governor Akinwunmi Ambode at Agege Stadium Lagos.

Excited Finidi George wrote after the reunion:

"A big thank you to Lagos State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode @akinwunmiambode for hosting top Nigerian football legends at the Lagos House in Alausa, Ikeja, on Friday.

Thanks for your strong believe in the possibility of using sports to grow our economies and seeing sports as a veritable tool to foster growth and development in your four years of office."

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode wrote:

" Football legends from Nigeria and other African countries converged today at the Agege Stadium to play a testimonial football match in my honour; to mark the end of my tenure as the Governor of Lagos State.

I am deeply honoured by this gesture and I appreciate everyone who made this testimonial match a reality; the organisers, the players, all the people who came to watch and all Lagosians. Thank you all. I am very grateful."
