The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has accused the National Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, of being a hypocrite, driven by “selfish pecuniary interests.”

It also accused him of currying favour from President Muhammadu Buhari by insulting the party.

The PDP insisted that Tinubu had nothing to offer towards the improvement of the country and its citizens.

The party, in a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, on Tuesday said Tinubu, by travelling all the way to Mecca, at this period of Ramadan, just to engage in “gossips, invective and diatribes against the PDP, had further shown that he had nothing to contribute towards the development of the nation.”

The statement said further: “It is atrocious that at the time other leaders are in the Holy Land offering prayers and supplications for our nation, Asiwaju Tinubu is in Mecca for photo-ops, playing dirty politics and hauling insults at other Nigerians just to curry relevance before President Buhari.

“The party notes that nothing but sheer hypocrisy would push Asiwaju Tinubu to engage in unholy praises of a failed administration in a desperation to avert the purported threats by certain agents of the Buhari Presidency to expose him.

“This is the same Asiwaju Tinubu, who, in January 2018, at the 15th Annual Daily Trust Dialogue, berated the Buhari administration for its nepotism, incompetence, corrupt oil subsidy regime; blaming it for the high-level poverty in our country and counselled Nigerians to be guided by their conscience in electing leaders in the 2019 general elections. Asiwaju, in criticizing the Buhari administration held rightly that ‘too much political and economic power resides in the hands of too few. This result in a society described by too much of unemployment, inadequate infrastructure, too little food, yet too much poverty.”

“He then added correctly that under President Buhari, ‘rather than becoming a joyous nation, Nigeria has become a cruel playground where the fears and concerns of the average person get exploited but their interests never get promoted.’”

The party warned the former Governor of Lagos to call himself to order, “particularly as Nigerians, including members of his party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, have seen through his power-grabbing antics and are now determined to give him the back seat treatment.”

Tinubu is your master in politic .he won't respond to you ,he is a man of policy he always face where he goes ,he doesn't mind his distractors .he uses their war words as a tools to attain his heart desires .you can tell lies and brag against him but the man always achieves better result in any Game of politics he plays in Nigeria. Leaning point "; Don't waste your precious time on finding somebody's fault by critics or insult but plan your own goals and work toward it for better result for your future.

Tinubu this, Tinubu that. Kilode? This man has not held public office for over a decade. Yet he is discussed more than others who are currently democratically elected and should be improving the lot of the masses. The fear of this man just reminds me of how they feared the genius and transformational ability of Awolowo to the extent even his own kinsman, the jealous and spiteful OBJ, worked to frustrate "the best President Nigeria never had" (Ojukwu). Yoruba Ronu. They have begun with BAT and the last election, with the the way SW voted, just leaves me worrying Yorubas don't see what they should in currently fractious and volatile Nigeria.

PDP said Tinubu driven by selfishness. Their hyper-desperate presidential candidate is driven by what, selflessness?
