Everyone is blaming the government now... If and when the govt decides to act by demolishing buildings standing in the way of drainage we will still call the govt evil. What do we even want as a people?.. These things are easily preventable: Stop buying and erecting structures indiscriminately. Building and Land Survey Agencies/task forces should be prosecuted for failing to do their jobs...

We really have a long way to go in this country sha... Just negodu. undecided

I'm very sure something like this happened last year and the government didn't provide solution like building proper drainage system to avoid future occurrence. Here we are with same problem.
Between last year and this year, a lot of plastic bottle, nylon bags, paper and other waste has been thrown by the people into the drainage.
It is people's junk that blocked the drains.

Yes. Everywhere. Major roads, streets, are all water logged. Na when he wan leave office he come remember to demolish buildings around the sango bridge. That place I'm sure will be left unattended to in a long while

This problem no be today o. Ota is the industrial hub of Ogun state and you expect effluents from different industries. When you add that to the fact that the place is prone to flooding by itself during the rainy season and the fact that the drainages are shallow, deplorable state of the road for a place that is heavily industrialized adjoining this, coupled with the dirty no dey kill african man attitude of the masses, wetin you expect if not omi yale? Wetin improper town planning dey cause for this country eh!

Yes sir. On this forum late last year. Exactly at Sango-Ota. Same pictures of floods. So, safe to say that in 2020, same floods, same place, same people pushing flooded cars and doing nothing to hold those entrusted to providing minimum quality infrastructure accountable.

To all, actually there is drainage and canal for control of the flood in that area but people dispose their refuse into the water thereby causing blockage of the drainage. The Governor had to close down commercial activities for a week last year to ensure the refuse were cleared. That area has been a flooding area from time immemorial. The water is not waste from any factory but erosions from nearby communities (Arinko,Ago-adura,Plaza) whenever it rains. The people contributed to the problem(dumping refuse into erosions).

Can't agree less. Here in Lagos too, everywhere is littered with plastic bottles blocking drainages . Information and reorientation is very key here for people to have attitudinal change to things like this.
