Federal Govt Declares May 29 Public Holiday by Naijaalive(m): 5:32pm On May 27, 2019
The federal government has declared Wednesday, May 29, as work-free day to mark the 2019 presidential inauguration.

This was announced in a statement by the permanent secretary at the interior ministry, Georgina Ehuriah.

According to Ms Ehuriah, the Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau, who made the declaration on behalf of the federal government, congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari for his re-election and Nigerians for the successful conduct of the 2019 elections.

“He expressed confidence that with the collaboration of all Nigerians, the Nation would be transformed in the next four years to a country that would be the envy of other Nations.”

Although the presidential inauguration will hold on May 29, a more elaborate event is scheduled for June 12 which has now been designated as Nigeria’s Democracy Day.

Federal govt declares May 29 public holiday

Source please!!!

Information reaching me now is that 'Public Holiday' is different from 'Work free day'

What the government has declared is "work free day" and not a Public Holiday"

The last time Federal Government declared a work free day, only the Civil Servants observed it, while banks and other private institutions worked normally on that day.

Please take note, before you get too excited

HAPPY HOLIDAY TO ALL NIGERIANS.

“He expressed confidence that with the collaboration of all Nigerians, the Nation would be transformed in the next four years to a country that would be the envy of other Nations.”
Time to join hands and make our country work again, after many years of looting and corruption.
We only have this country.
Do away with the negative vibes and stop wailing guys.
God bless Nigeria.

Although the presidential inauguration will hold on May 29, a more elaborate event is scheduled for June 12 which has now been designated as Nigeria’s Democracy Day.
God bless our President Muhammadu Buhari for this.
Something that MKO kinsman that was the President for 8 years couldn't do!
To a better Nigeria we go.

Why do we still have the minister of interior? He should have left, every ministry is now supposed to be under the control of the permanent secretary...

So your 5% votes couldn't even stop Buhari's second term and elect Atiku tongue?

It's another four years of fruitless wailing.

But I trust Buhari to complete the projects your looting PDP never initiated sef.

God bless PMB,

Most civil servants don even travel. Children's day + May 29 celebrations = perfect holidays. (FCT people will understand).

Thank you for the holiday but I can see another promise of making Nigeria an envy of other nations in the next four years, I don't think it is necessary to make any promises again, people already know how the next four years will go and they are well prepared for it...

Africans don't utilise their holidays well. No money for most people to travel to serene environments to unwind.

Pay workers well and develop tourist sites.
Re: Federal Govt Declares May 29 Public Holiday by thesicilian: 6:56pm On May 27, 2019
Can't they just declare May 29 an annual public holiday once and for all instead of having to make the announcement every year?
