1. The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, has claimed the party did not get justice in Zamfara State. Oshiomhole stated this on Monday, while speaking to journalists. Oshiomhole insisted the people voted the APC but the court imposed the PDP on them on the ground of technicalities.

2. Nigeria, on Monday, lost 2-0 to the United States of America, in the ongoing FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland. The Flying Eagles were looking to seal early qualification in their second Group D fixture, after hammering Qatar 4-0 last week. However, they fell to a brace from Sebastian Soto, who netted in each half to give his side victory. Paul Aigbogun’s men will now take on Ukraine in their final group game on Thursday.

3. A Pan Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere has called on the federal government to urgently address the growing trend of insecurity in the country, particularly the attacks by suspected Fulani herdsmen within the South West states, which they said was targeted primarily at non-Fulanis. According to the group at a meeting on Monday at the residence of its National Leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti in Akure, the Ondo State capital, the alleged backing of the herdsmen by government portends danger to the existence of the country as an entity.

4. A Federal High Court sitting in Owerri, on Monday sacked the member-elect for Nkwerre/Nwangele/Njaba/Isu Federal Constituency of Imo, Mr Ugonna Ozurigbo.Ozurigbo of APC resigned his position as the Deputy Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly last Wednesday. Justice Tijjani Ringim, who delivered the judgment, ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to issue a Certificate of Return to Kingsley Echendu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

5. Hope Democratic Party, HDP, one of the parties that participated in the February 23 Presidential election has asked the Supreme Court to stop the inauguration of President Muhammadu Buhari slated for Wednesday. The party prayed the apex court to restrain the President-elect from presenting himself for swearing-in ceremony pending the final determination of petitions challenging the validity of his election. In a notice of appeal to Supreme Court, the party faulted the striking out of its motion on the notice by the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal on may 22, on the ground of lack of merit.
