VACANCY

A women’s right, civil society organization is seeking highly-qualified applicants for
immediate employment to the positions of Project Manager, Assistant Project Officer &
Nurse at it shelter in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU: Positions are preferably for Female applicants.
SLOT 1: Project Manager (Must be a Lawyer)
The Shelter Manager will maintain a round the clock workweek by providing adequate direct
support & services to client of the organization.
Her duties and responsibilities shall include but are not limited to placing clients in temporary
shelter, recording client intakes, maintaining confidential files, documenting contacts, managing
client's needs at shelter, maintaining grocery stocks, meeting with clients needing courtroom
assistance, networking with community agencies, filling-in at times during the Executive Director’s
absence, providing community outreach, public speaking, providing close support for the Executive
Director, and assisting with events and functions for the organization.
Responsibilities:
• Reports To and Takes Direction from the Executive Director or her designates.
• Maintain the strictest confidentiality of personnel and clients served.
• Provide advocacy and support to the 24-hour crisis line.
• Provide crisis intervention and in-person advocacy to residents of the shelter.
• Provide In-Person advocacy within agency’s service radius when necessary.
• Provide limited courtroom victim support and maintain a basic understanding of courtroom
procedures & legal procedures.
• Support Shelter facilities through Coordinating shelter needs with Executive Director;
repair/maintain of shelter facility to ensure a safe, healthy environment for clients, Coordinate &
Organize shelter food stock when applicable, work with the Security personnel for the protection of
the shelter.
Provide monthly Shelter Report to Executive Director
• Complete & File client confidential records.
• Maintain daily log of contacts for data entry.
• Coordinate with Executive Director to develop program literature when necessary.
• Coordinate needs with Executive Director to support that shelter functions within shelter budget.
• Facilitate and coordinate support group meetings.
• Attend mandatory staff meeting with Executive Director and staff.
• Maintain familiarity with state and federal domestic violence and sexual assault codes.
Requirement:

 A bachelor degree in Law.
 A minimum of three /five years of been called to the bar, experience with an NGO is
an added advantage.
 Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
 Exceptional leadership skills

 Knowledge of all applicable laws, rules and regulations on sexual & domestic
violence
 Experience in Litigation.
 Experience working with people sexual & domestic violence.
 Ability to prepare court process & documents.
 Analytical skills.

SLOT 2: Assistant Project Officer
The Assistant Project officer will assist and report to the Shelter Manager.
Responsibilities
Her duties shall include but are not limited , answering crisis calls, placing clients in temporary
shelter, recording client intakes, maintaining confidential files, documenting contacts, managing
client's needs at shelter, maintaining grocery stocks, meeting with clients needing courtroom
assistance, networking with community agencies, filling-in at times during the absence of the
shelter manager, providing community outreach, providing close support for the shelter manager,
and assisting with events and functions for the organization. Duties are based on needs of shelter
residents, outside clientele, reviewing and assessing the growth patterns of the organization.
Responsibilities:
 Assist and report to and take the project manager.
 Maintain the strictest confidentiality of personnel and clients served.
 Provide advocacy and support to the 24-hour crisis line.
 Provide crisis intervention and in-person advocacy to residents of the shelter.
 Provide In-Person advocacy within agency’s service radius when necessary.
 Support Shelter facilities through Coordinating shelter needs with the shelter manager on
repair/maintain of shelter facility to ensure a safe, healthy environment for clients,
Coordinate.
 Organize shelter food stock when applicable, work with the Security personnel for the

 A minimum of two working experience. Working for an NGO is an added advantage.
 Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
 Exceptional leadership skills

 Experience working with people sexual & domestic violence.
 Analytical skills.
SLOT 3: NURSE
Responsibilities:
 The successful candidate will provide basic healthcare services to the organization’s
shelter in-mates healthcare.
 Report on the health status of in-mate of the shelter.
 Support, counsel and engage in evaluation of in-mate mental health psychological
status.
Requirement:
 Must be a certified nursing certificate (A retired nurse preferably)
 First Aid Experience: The candidate must have first aid experience and know how to
handle emergency situations that in-mate may experience
 Critical Medical Thinking – Successful candidate should be able to examine shelter in-
mates and think critically to make appropriate healthcare recommendations
 Bedside Manner – She must process good bedside manner as it is required to comfort
shelter in-mates who are in pain or in distress.
 Communication Skills – Process good communication skills in both verbal and written
mediums.
 Organizational Skills – She must be efficient in carrying-out task assigned
