The Bishop of the Lagos West Diocese, Anglican Communion, The Rt. Revd. Peter Adebiyi, has said that the way 2011 election is handled will determine the future of the country. He said politicians had a strategic role to play in keeping the nation together.

Speaking during a service on Sunday to celebrate Nigeria at 50 and 2010 National Harvest at Archbishop Vining Memorial Church Cathedral, Ikeja, Lagos, the cleric admonished the Independent National Electoral Commission to live up to its promise of free, fair and credible election in 2011.

He also advised the electorate to register, vote massively and ensure that their votes count. He advised them not to sell their votes and consciences and to resist rigging.

Adebiyi said, “Politicians should, for God’s sake, allow Nigeria to be. If the country scatters, it is the politicians. If it will remain as an entity, it is the politicians. The way they handle it, especially the coming election, will determine what will be the future of the country. They should please allow Nigeria to stay.

If the North donot want the Country to remain one entity and move on with a credible President Jonathan, the its high time it be splited into three or four or six. Development will be faster that way. I wonder if the North that claim number after counting cows in addition to human beings will be able to survive economically. Some northern politicians are very selfish and they think they are the king makers in Nigeria not knowing that the tide has changed.

In the context of Nigeria, this is a shallow theory that lacks credence. Remember that the reason for the creation of local government areas in 1976 and creation of some states was also premised on notion of fast development. Have we actually realised fast development through this?

Guys! you keep asking what do they have in the North, Most of the food you eat in Nigeria today doesn't come from the South, they have large scale farming and produces most of the food we eat in Nigeria. I lived in a small country in South America where all the natural resources is cow, cattle ranch. Other countries go there to buy cows kill them and ship them to their own country. So, if Nigeria should divide (God Forbid), I think everyone will do just well Oh! by the way the country I was talking about only have 3 Million people. The region I fear for is the Igbo people. We are not know to follow a leader, or respect a leader, so who will lead us? of course the Igbo people have great potential but up till now, it has been to their detriment. So lets hope 2011 come and go as other years, and this time in 2012 we are singing Arise O compatriot, together as one Nigeria.

Do you call that being naive?

We have not and I doubt if we will ever as Nigeria.
The truth is bitter but its name doesnt change from truth.
Looking at this jubilee celebration, ask yourself (dont give an instance answer, but sleep several times b4 answering), do you see Nigerian in the next 50 years? Let it be known to you that the word 'One Nigeria' only exists in the books not in our heart.

The moment a friend mentions his name in our midst, there is discrimination for or against, not to talk of when he now speaks. infact we even go to the extend of saying someone speaks Igbo-english, Benue- english, Yoruba-english, Aboki-english etc. Ponder over this and come to tell me if wale made sense or not.

Of course, you are very right, but certain event will surely precede the 2011 Election because right now, you just watch out!

God has visited Nigeria and He will be passing through the nation in the last seven days of this month (24th - 30th Sept. 2010). He will pass through Nigeria for judgment against everyone that has taken advantage of the disarray of things in the country to afflict Nigerians since the last forty years. The nation through the error of the founding fathers and the fore-running leaders was sold into forty years captivity, but now it is Jubilee. Therefore a major event that will bring about a complete overhauling and a total transformation of Nigeria’s current political terrain will take place and will as a result set the pace for the various remarkable things that will follow before the 2011 Election:

1. Judgment and destruction is coming upon all the remaining fore-running leaders that sold the nation into forty years captivity since 1970.

2. All the wicked leaders in various platforms who have been subtly or directly oppressing Nigerians will be destroyed and overthrown because it is judgment time.

3. Every popular and hidden platform of oppression in Nigeria will collapse suddenly and be overturned.

4. Power will change hands in Nigeria; the government of this nation has been taking away from the hand of the platform of oppression.

5. God is done with the current nation’s ruling party and is coming crashing down.

6. A political party will arise out of obscurity into limelight as she launches a national rescue project and will therefore attract a great influx of the right people who have been waiting for the right platform.

7. The wall that has barricaded the true leaders for years from building the nation will collapse, new generation leaders who have been waiting for the right platform into the nation’s politics will emerge and gain access; they will therefore have the opportunity to feature in the 2011 Election triumphantly through the new rising platform. That is the generation that will lead the nation to the Promised Land.

What The Faithful Citizens Should Do As We Await This Great Move

1. None of us is completely blameless and no one should point accusing fingers to any, God is the judge of all and He is already at work for our national deliverance but we all must ask God for mercy even though God won’t repent concerning the judgment.

2. Let all the true leaders God has prepared to participate in the nation’s politics start watching out for the right platform as it emerges in a short while. Strategic positioning will be required now, because Something Is About To Happen! Spread the news, it is Jubilee already.
