TECHNICAL OPERATIONS MANAGER

A Solutions company is seeking an experienced Surveyor, Civil or Mechanical Engineer for the post position of a Technical Operations Manager in her organization. The role of the Technical Operations Manager is to proactively manage and coordinate the Survey, Geospatial units, Project technicians & Engineers. He/She will work with company management to prioritize projects, manage resources, and accomplish organizational goals. He/She will also perform a variety of in-office and field tasks associated with surveying, technological solutions and engineering projects obtained by the company, with oversight over all survey field operations including ground field technicians and surveyors. This individual will also coordinate with aerial survey operations staff and coordinate outside aerial survey operations to provide comprehensive survey documents/reports for Clients and partners.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage both office and field operations staff, Responsible for the operations of the Survey Department including personnel, equipment, and budget management.
• She/he shall create and maintain working relationships with existing and potential clients to obtain new projects.
• Work closely with the Business development & commercial manager to prepare proposals, daily, weekly & monthly reports/projections, deliver quality and superior service to all clients and be responsible for project financial performance.
• Adhere to Company safety polices along with use of supplied personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure strict adherence to regulatory and compliance programs.
• Periodically organize and complete internal and external training as agreed and required by management.
• Prepare and present estimates, proposals, and technical approach plans and direct employees in the execution of project works.
• Work closely with the corporate services manager to ensure the development and implementation of programs and departmental policies aligned with the short and long-term company goals.
• Act as Project Manager for assigned projects, prepare project schedules and provide project management and inform management of progress on assigned projects.
• Perform research, write technical reports and prepare legal recordable documents as required.
• Proactively develop your skills in the usage of new technology to solve problems and participate in the development of survey models, Machine Control models, Stake Out alignment, and corridor models.
• Should be prepared for 25-50% travel on an as needed basis.
• May traverse and work in all types of terrain and weather conditions, as well as project sites in various stages of completion.
• Other assigned duties as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• At least Bachelor’s Degree in surveying & Geoinformatics, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other applicable field from an accredited and recognized university.
• Professional Certification (Not compulsory but added advantage).
• Applicants should be at least 34-45years by December 2019.
• 7+ years progressive experience of field/office combined on a survey engineering related experience
• At least 3+ years in a people supervisory or management role.
• 3+ years of surveying experience using premium survey equipments e.g. Trimble.
• Strong communications and presentation skills with the ability to work effectively with all associates and senior management.
• Ability to convey a positive and professional image to internal and external contacts.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive and helpful attitude.
• Well organized with the ability to handle multiple and competing priorities.
• Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Suite.
• Appreciable experience in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center (preferably).
• Effective interpersonal skills with coworkers & clients.
• Very calculative, honest & a self-starter.
• Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record.
• Ability to work interdependently within a team environment
• Must be flexible to changes in work assignments on short notice and/or on a daily basis as changes occur in project needs.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Full time - Works 8am to 5pm (Monday – Friday)
• Very good working environment.
• Salary range N130,000 – N200,000 (Increment afterwards) T&C applies.
• Project completion beneits.
• Location: Alausa, Ikeja. Lagos State
• Candidates must be based in Lagos State (Close proximity to Ikeja)
• Probation period of six months.
