Ambode is a disaster. 30 mins of rainfall, Lagos is flooded. Broke up roads every where and did not build them back. Tried to undo everything.
The new man has a lot to do in other to clean up the mess he left behind.

Our civil servants can only strike for salary increase.

They always wait for somebody to push them before they do small out of the work they are paid for. Shit hole civil servants.

It’s been less than a week but I already dislike this guy.

Unlike Ambode, I can tell this guy is a small minded guy. Ambode was making major projects while my guy is trying to bring back mandatory weekend sanitation. Like who fucccking thinks of bringing economic activities to a halt in order to mandate the citizens to do the government’s job?

ambode really messed up in a lot of areas. he was too docile and not proactive at all on simple logical things to be done
If you were in Ambode's shoes you will probably do worse.
The guy had a lot of forces against him.

This is a theme I keep harping on. Governments at both state and Federal levels are running out of money to undertake major infrastructural investments without borrowing.

Ambode seems worse than Fashola but if you factor in the cost of debt servicing and public sector wages (in Fashola's first term, minimum wage was N5k initially), this partly explains the relative inactivity of Ambode.

As the debt and wage burdens increase quicker than the state's capacity to service them, infrastructure spending goes by the wayside. You can do some BOT type schemes for one or two eye catching projects (like the FG and China with rail and airports) but that's about it.

Expect further disappointment from the new governor.

rodeo0070:
In furtherance of the directive of the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Ministry of the Environment today, Saturday commenced desilting exercise across the metropolis, through its zonal offices.

Our team on monitoring exercise captured scenes of the ongoing desilting of weep holes, and drainages around Ojota, Oworonsoki expressway areas.

According to Mr. Abiodun Bamgboye, the intention of the state government is to reduce the incidence of flooding as we gradually approach the rainy season.

While the exercise continues, residents of the State have been urged to complement the efforts of the state government by cultivating a clean and hygienic environmental attitude and avoid indiscriminate dumping of waste in unauthorized areas.

The problem of Lagos state is it's residents, nylons, plastics are all thrown on the streets after use. That is simply the cause of flooding nothing more

Usual fire-brigade approach. They were not doing anything until someone died after she was "swallowed" by a manhole.

Lazy and wicked souls.

Looks more like private individuals and not the lagos state government. But really these things are not rocket science. On freedom way most of the holes to take water off the road are blocked with silt. It won't take more than 3 hours for a team of say 10 people to clear the sand and plastic bottles blocking them and open them up, yet local government or state government won't do it.
