For many who believed/believes the bout was staged,you would have thought it otherwise if Ruiz didn't survive the punch in the 3rd round,that put him down to the canvass,First time he would taste the canvass,Joshua deserves some credits for that, I would like to think so many factors were contributory to his loss.
1)Him fighting outside his forte, prior before then he had left UK just to acclamatize to the weather,same reasons wilder had lure him to come to America to fight him,same reason a certain may weather will not leave America to fight elsewhere,same reason Ruiz lost to parker when he fought him in Auckland.most times where the bout are fought gives an edge.
2)Ruiz last bout was in April while AJ had fought last in 2018,During his post match he mentioned,I can go 15rounds in the gym but in reality 12rounds look long,he could have been bout-rusty as well.
3)For his style of fight,AJ lacks endurance, he'd always knock his opponent out before the 7th round,except for the bout with Klitschko and if we like to be honest, he gassed out during that bout as well.he already gassed out with Ruiz and tried to hug him,but Ruiz gives him a quick counter and he had no time to recover,the hugging strategy didn't work for him,like it does for fury.
We all think it's stages because it looked awkward for a champ to have lost in that manner,well he also didn't believe his eyes,during the breaks,he asked his trainer what round are we in,he also said he was feeling strange.
He didn't fight a rookie,he fought someone around his age,someone who has never tasted the canvass prior before their bout,someone with just 1 professional loss which was believed to have been wrongly accorded to parker,Ruiz is also a good boxer,he only lacks a good managerial team,and fighting someone who weighs 20pounds than him,wasn't easy for Joshua.such boxers with thick flesh absorbs punches better,just like David tua and fury.
We hope Ruiz wouldn't be pressured by the different boxing councils to fight others,so the belts are still all under his arms,otherwise if those belts are lost to different boxers prior before their rematch,it will be difficult for Joshua to get them back.There is no such thing as conspiracy in that bout,Joshua met his match.
